In-Depth:
It’s a new year and Mother Nature is hitting the ground running!

A cold front is set to move through the area Tuesday night.  Ahead of the front, thanks to southerly winds and Gulf moisture moving into the area, we have a shot for several rounds of strong to severe storms Tuesday.

Storms will bring a threat of heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding, damaging wind, hail, and even tornadoes.

Almost all of the NewsChannel 5 viewing area is under a Slight Risk (Yellow, 2 out of 5) for severe storms Tuesday.

With this threat taking place during nighttime, it is still important to make sure you have a number of ways to receive potentially life-saving weather information.  A weather radio is a great way to get alerts along with downloading our FREE Storm Shield App to your smartphone.
