Veteran E.W. Scripps reporter Socrates Lozano was among those who needed to be rescued on Wednesday from rising flood waters left behind from Hurricane Harvey.

Lozano has been reporting from Texas this week, providing storm coverage to this station, along with other Scripps TV stations nationwide. Late Tuesday night, the flood waters rose, and forced those staying at a Port Arthur, Texas hotel to seek the second floor.

Lozano said it only took moments for the water to go from just a few inches to chest deep.

Lozano's hotel was surrounded by flood water for more than 12 hours before getting rescued Wednesday afternoon.
