In depth:
The blazing, record-setting heat on Wednesday was brutal! Both Nashville and Clarksville touched 101 degrees. The previous record for Nashville was 100° set in both 1944 and 1988.
A cold front (more like a "cool" front) will settle in tonight and keep us out of record-setting territory for Thursday and Friday. Although, it'll still be hot with temperatures in the middle 90s.
Temperatures will heat back up again quickly, and by the weekend we'll be flirting with the triple-digit mark. A cold front will slide through late Sunday into early Monday, finally bringing relief to the heat — and our best chance for rain in weeks.
