Semi-Truck Jackknifes, Delays Traffic Along I-65

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A crash involving a semi-truck caused a traffic delay along Interstate 65 in northern Davidson County.

The incident happened in the early morning hours Thursday on I-65 near Vietnam Veterans Boulevard.

A semi-truck somehow jackknifed and struck the concrete barrier that divides north and southbound lanes of the interstate. It was not known if wet roads were a factor in the crash.

The impact of the crash broke apart a 20 to 25 foot section of the barrier wall. Debris could be seen scattered along the roadway.

The driver of the truck was not seriously hurt. No one else was injured in the crash. 

The collision forced the closure of I-65 for several hours. All lanes have since reopened.

Cleanup crews were called to the scene, where their focusing on removing the mangled truck and also cleaning up the large amount of debris left behind.
