LOUISVILLE, KY. (WTVF) — Two people are dead, and many others are injured in Louisville, Kentucky after an explosion at a plant Tuesday. Emergency crews are currently investigating, and new video shows the extent of the damage.

As crews continue to assess the damage, Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg says at this point in the investigation the cause of the explosion is unknown.

The explosion left a large hole in the roof of the building. Part of the plant collapsed completely. Louisville Metro Emergency Services says evacuation orders have been in place for two surrounding blocks since the explosion. Neighbors say they heard the blast and immediately knew something was wrong.

"I was just in my house, and I heard a huge explosion. My whole house shook," said one neighbor.

All 12 people who were injured in that explosion worked at that plant. The city is also using a drone to monitor air quality in the area to make sure nothing is leaving the site.

"They did say that some of the gas levels around the opposite side of the street were dissipating a lot quicker than that side of the street, which I'm hopeful about, but it's really scary at the moment," said a nearby resident.

This is an ongoing investigation. We'll be sure to keep you updated as we learn new details.
