Trinity Lane Bridge Work Will Impact I-65 Weekend Traffic

Posted

Lane closures on Interstate 65 have been expected to slow weekend traffic.

Those with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said crews have planned to continue repair work on the Interstate 65 bridges that cross over Trinity Lane north of downtown Nashville.

Due to this work, Interstate 65 South will be reduced to two lanes beginning at 8 p.m. Friday.

This closure could cause delays on both Interstate 65 southbound and Interstate 24 eastbound in the area north of downtown.

Officials said these repairs have been part of a $4.3 million resurfacing project which has stretched from the Trinity Lane bridge to the Cumberland River bridge and Spring Street bridge in the downtown loop.

Crews have estimated the lanes will reopen around 5 a.m. Monday.

TDOT officials said the bridge work could require significant lane closures for six more weekends; however, they confirmed work would not be taking place during the 4th of July travel weekend.
