Tony Sloan joins News Channel 5 as no stranger to Middle Tennessee. He grew up in Memphis and later graduated as a blue raider from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. At MTSU he was involved in the mass communications live news broadcast named MT10 where he won multiple AP awards.
After leaving MTSU, he moved to Columbus, Georgia to work for WTVM News Leader 9. There he received multiple local journalism awards as an anchor and reporter. From Columbus, he moved back home to Memphis to work for WHBQ FOX13. There he worked as an anchor, reporter, breaking news anchor, and traffic anchor.
