How to Make Puchim

Sharon Ben Ami from the Jewish Federation made Puchim, a chocolate Israeli dessert. The Israel Independence Day celebration will be on Sunday, May 19 from 2pm-5pm in Centennial Park, 2500 West End Ave. The event will feature Israeli food, dancing, kids’ activities, live music and more. PUCHIM

Ingredients:

8.5 oz. of tea biscuits (two packets)

3.2 oz. butter, soft or cold

3.2 oz. (1/2 cup) sugar

1.5 tablespoon brandy

3.5 tablespoons cocoa

2/3 cup milk and 3% fat

Ground coconut/ sprinkles for decoration


Directions:

Crumble biscuits in a food processor. Dissolve butter in a large bowl in the microwave. Add sugar, brandy, cocoa and milk to the butter bowl and stir until uniform. Add the crushed / grounded biscuits to the mixture and mix until uniform. Make chocolate balls with your hands, place in a plate and dip in a plate with coconut. Refrigerate until serving.
