Cold Cucumber & Basil Soup

1 inch ginger
3-4 garlic cloves
1/2 shallot or 2 green onions
2-3 cucumbers
1/2 avocado
1 serrano pepper, ribs and seeds removed
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
1/4 cup cilantro
juice of 1 lime
salt and pepper to taste
