The program says, in accordance with SEC and NCAA guidelines, it conducts routine testing three times a week. The positive tests were conducted Sunday and the program is getting retested today.
The team says Barnes has entered isolation protocol. They say an update on this week’s Volunteer Classic games would be provided by Tuesday. The Vols were scheduled to open their season on Wednesday against Charlotte.
Last week, Athletic Director Phillip Fulmer revealed that he had also tested positive for the virus.
