NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — After getting a day off on Tuesday, the Titans players were back on the field for Training Camp practice number five on Wednesday. at St. Thomas Sports Park. After a couple of days in full pads, the Titans were in "Uppers" (Helmets, shoulder pads, and shorts) on Wednesday.
Quarterback Marcus Mariota had what looked to be another efficient day. Mariota looked especially good running the "red zone" offense and threw a nice looking touchdown pass to wide receiver Corey Davis.
We had our first training camp skirmish of the summer as wide receiver Cody Hollister was seen mixing it up with defensive back Kenneth Durden. (The two were quickly separated after some pushing and shoving) Wide receiver Anthony Ratliff-Williams made a beautiful over-the-shoulder catch towards the end of practice in a team drill.
Offensive lineman Corey Lewin was seen working with the first team offense at center, while normal starter Ben Jones got some work at guard.
After practice, Titans Head Coach Mike Vrabel announced Saturday's team scrimmage at Nissan Stadium will look like a simulated game, with the players equally divided. Vrabel says he hopes to see "30,000 people" in attendance to give the players a good "gameday" feel. (The practice is scheduled to go from 6pm-8pm and is open to fans and free to attend.)
The Titans will practice the next two days at St. Thomas Sports Park from 9:50am-12:15pm with Friday's practice open to fans.
