NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Baseball could be played in Nashville after all in 2020.
On the heels of Tuesday's news that a Major League Baseball will have a season, there are rumblings Nashville could be a landing spot for teams of free agents competing against each other in Music City.
The Nashville Sounds released a statement late Tuesday night saying they have had discussions with MLB about that very possibility.
The games would be between teams of free agents playing games at First Horizon Park this summer.
The Sounds said they are continue to have talks with both baseball officials and Nashville health officials to see if hosting games in Nashville would be feasible.
Major League Baseball's season is set to start in late July. The season had been on hold due to COVID-19.
