NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Derrick Henry looks set to be punishing Titans' opponents well into the next decade.
NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports the team and star running back have agreed to a 4-year contract extension in the neighborhood of $50 million.
The cornerstone of a Titans' offense that came one game shy of the Super Bowl last season, Henry led the NFL in rushing yards and touchdowns last season.
According to reports, $25 million of the contract is guaranteed to the bruising running back. He becomes one of the highest paid running backs in the NFL.
The move puts an exclamation point on a Titans' offseason that has seen the team also resign quarterback Ryan Tannehill to a long-term deal.
