Preds To Face Ducks In Western Conference Final

The Predators now know who they will face in their first ever Western Conference Final appearance. They will face the Pacific Division champion Ducks in the best-of-seven series beginning Friday night in Anaheim.

The Ducks advanced by virtue of a 2-1 win over the Oilers Wednesday night in game seven of their second round series. The win snaps Anaheim's four-game losing streak in game seven.

That streak included a loss against the Predators last year in game seven of the opening round. That loss led the Ducks to fire head coach Bruce Boudreau and replace him with Randy Carlyle.

The move seems to have paid off with the Ducks winning the Pacific yet again, only this time to advance to the Western Conference Final.

Nashville was the final team into the Western Conference playoff field, but has found its best form of the season in the playoffs, sweeping the Stanley Cup favorite Blackhawks in round one before dispatching the Blues in six games in round two.

The Preds' historic run now continues on the road as the team will depart for California from Signature Air at 1:30 Thursday afternoon. Fans that wish to help send the team off are asked to be there by 12:30 p.m.
