NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The first day in pads was very good for Tennessee Titans starting quarterback Marcus Mariota. He was nearly perfect in the team's 7-on-7 session, showing his confidence in Arthur Smith's offense.
This year is an important one for former No. 2 overall pick. Mariota and the Titans made the playoffs in 2017, but 9-7 wasn't enough to get into the playoffs last season. Mariota started 13 games a year ago, throwing for a career low 2,528 yards and also career-low 11 touchdowns. Injuries played a part, but those numbers were lower than his rookie year, where he played in just 12 games.
So how will Mariota's fifth year go? Jon and Steve make their predictions. You can watch in the video above, but here's the summary:
- 3,200 yards: Jon predicts fewer than 3,200 yards for Mariota, Steve predicts more.
- 20 touchdowns: Jon predicts a push, Steve predicts more TDs.
- 10 interceptions: Jon predicts fewer than 10 INTs, Steve predicts more.
