NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Titans held their final practice Tuesday ahead of their preseason opener Thursday night in Philadelphia against the Eagles.
The team worked out in shoulder pads only for about two hours on a steamy day at St. Thomas Sports Park. Here were some notable things.:
- Marcus Mariota found Tajae Sharpe a couple times for corner endzone catches. Sharpe continues to have a very solid training camp in which he seems to be evolving into a play-making wide receiver and a go-to target for Mariota. “He’s lanky and does a good job of high pointing the football,” Mariota said.
- Young Kalif Raymond also is turning heads during camp. He’s got speed and appears to be shifty while getting in and out of his breaks.
- Mariota says Raymond has done a great job of knowing what to do and making plays. He’s versatile and does whatever the Titans coaches want him to do.
- That should go a long ways in Raymond’s quest to make the team after being considered to be a long shot entering camp.
One negative is that the offensive struggles in the red zone appeared to continue against a stingy defense that’s made it tough on them to get going down there in camp.
