High-scoring Texas-Rio Grande Valley guard Antonio Green will transfer to Middle Tennessee, sources tell Newschannel 5 Sports.
Green, who will have to sit out the upcoming 2017-18 season as a redshirt per NCAA transfer rules, will have two years of eligibility remaining with a Blue Raiders team coming off back to back NCAA Tournament appearances.
The 6'2 Green hails from Tupelo, Miss., but emerged as one of the leading scorers for the Vipers during his two seasons of college ball. He averaged 11.6 points per game as a freshman and averaged nearly 17 points per game as a sophomore.
Known as a sharpshooter, Green knocked down 111 threes during his second campaign at UTRGV. For his career, he shoots close to 38 percent from three-point range.
