NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Pearl-Cohn has had some great athletes and great basketball teams over the years, and the Firebirds had another special season this year.
It was a team worthy of a NewsChannel 5 Curtain Call.
Coach Terry Cole's team put up another 20-win season, and then took their game to another level when the postseason began. The Firebirds won by 32 points a game to win the Regional despite many players having their neighborhoods affected by the Nashville tornado during the tournament.
Pearl-Cohn then routed Creek Wood 83-39 to head to state behind another big night from Tyrone Marshall.
Pearl-Cohn didn't get the chance to play in the state tournament or win a title, but its excellence, even in the midst of tragedy in North Nashville, deserves this Curtain Call.
