NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A lightning delay that lasted more than an hour at Nissan Stadium for the Vols game against Bowling Green had an unintended effect on businesses downtown.
As more and more fans waited for the delay to lift, and the outcome of the game was becoming clearer, a steady stream of fans headed past vendors and into downtown.
Vendors said they saw big boosts to their business because there was less of a big rush after the game finally ended.
“Yeah it gives them more time to shop and take their time and ask questions and so on and so forth,” said vendor Chris Horton.
It ended up being a big win for the Vols over the Bowling Green Falcons -- 59 to 30.
