NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nissan Stadium was once again a buzz with college football fans.

Saturday it was for the University of Tennessee, and Sunday it was Tennessee State University.

The TSU Tigers prepared to take on the Alabama State University Hornets in the John A. Merritt Classic.

Even though the game wasn’t set to start until evening, there were plenty of tailgaters, some setting up as early as 9 a.m.

Some fans said if you don't have tailgating, you can't have football.

"Basically, yeah man,” one fan said. “Football is secondary because this is where the game really is. This is fellowship right here. Fellowship is always better than football. Then football."

The game was set to get underway at 6 p.m.
