MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- Brent Stockstill threw a career-high five touchdown passes, Jordan Parker ran for three scores and Middle Tennessee raced to an early lead in a 73-14 win over Charlotte Saturday night.
Stockstill hit on 23 of 27 attempts for 369 yards. Parker ran for 142, including a 62-yarder early in a first quarter in which Middle Tennessee (2-1, 1-0 Conference USA) scored 42 points. Desmond Anderson also went over the century mark, rushing for 102 yards and a score.
Kalif Phillips was the lone bright spot offensively for Charlotte (2-1, 0-1), rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown. Uriah LeMay returned a kickoff 48 yards for a touchdown.
The Blue Raiders' 73 points are the second-most in school history and the most since scoring 76 vs. North Alabama in 1927. The Blue Raiders have topped 70 points in each of the team's two wins this season.
