MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - Former Mississippi running back I'Tavius Mathers has transferred to Middle Tennessee State.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Murfreesboro native has one season of eligibility remaining. He must sit out the 2015 season because of NCAA transfer rules, according to a statement sent by MTSU on Thursday.
Mathers led Ole Miss with 563 yards rushing during the 2013 season, but had a diminished role in 2014, running for only 290 yards and three touchdowns.
Mathers was a star running back at nearby Blackman High School, which is less than 10 miles from MTSU's campus.
