The first set of College Football Playoff rankings are unveiled next week, so Saturday's serve as a final opportunity to impress the selection committee before their evaluations begin.
With the seven remaining unbeaten teams all on the road, it should make for an interesting Saturday.
A 6-4 showing last week brings this season's overall record for picks to 56-27 heading into this pivotal weekend.
22 NAVY AT SOUTH FLORIDA (-6.5) Tonight 6pm
Pick: USF
Willie Taggart's team is one of the best teams in the country no one is paying attention to. The Bulls are in control of their destiny in the AAC East and will take down the West division leaders at home.
10 WEST VIRGINIA (-3.5) AT OKLAHOMA STATE Saturday 11am
Pick: WVU
All of a sudden Dana Holgorsen is one of the hottest coaches in America. He has the Mountaineers 6-0 behind quality QB Skyler Howard and a better than typical Big 12 defense. Holgorsen and WVU should get a test in his return to Stillwater, but the Mountaineers continue to prove themselves with each test.
2 MICHIGAN (-24.5) AT MICHIGAN STATE 11am
Pick: Michigan
The Wolverines moved up to no. 2 in the rankings this week after Ohio State's loss last week. They've had their well documented recent struggles against the Spartans, including State's miracle last second win last year at the Big House. But this Sparty team is yet to win in the Big Ten this year and won't get victory number one against Big Blue.
NORTHWESTERN AT 6 OHIO STATE (-27.5) 2:30pm
Pick: OSU
The Wildcats have become one of the Big Ten's highest scoring offenses, but the Buckeyes will still be steaming from blowing an 11-point fourth quarter lead last week at Penn State. Happy to be back home in the horseshoe after a pair of difficult primetime road games, Ohio State will win big.
4 WASHINGTON (-11) AT 17 UTAH 2:30pm
Pick: Washington
With the exception of an overtime win at Arizona, the Huskies haven't played a game closer than 24 points. Jake Browning and company figure to get their stiffest test against the Utes. If UW transfer Troy Williams plays well at quarterback, Utah will have a chance at home in front of what will be an electric crowd at Rice-Eccles Stadium. But the Huskies have the nation's top-rated defense and also lead the country in turnover margin. I except them to take advantage of opportunities again in a big road win.
14 FLORIDA (-7.5) VS. GEORGIA 2:30pm on Newschannel 5
Pick: Florida
Despite the loss at Tennessee, the Gators control their destiny in the SEC East. With two weeks to prepare, I expect the Florida defense to get after freshman QB Jacob Eason all afternoon. The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party has been known to provide a surprise or two, but I think Florida takes care of business this year.
13 BOISE STATE (-13.5) AT WYOMING 6pm
Pick: Boise State
Bryan Harsin's Broncos have quietly gotten to 7-0, but may be the best positioned group of five team to crash the New Year's Six Bowl party. Craig Bohl has done a terrific job of turning the Cowboys around, but Boise will be too much in this one.
7 NEBRASKA AT 11 WISCONSIN (-11.5) 6pm
Pick: Wisconsin
The Badgers have played one of the toughest schedules in the country, having already played LSU at a neutral site, road games at Michigan State, Michigan and Iowa and a home game against Ohio State. Conversely, the Cornhuskers are 7-0 but don't really have a marquee victory yet. Wisconsin will have to overcome the loss of leading tackler Jack Cichy, but Justin Wilcox's defense has been one of the best units in the country this year and will be tough to beat at a rocking Camp Randall Stadium.
18 TENNESSEE (-14) AT SOUTH CAROLINA 6:15pm
Pick: Tennessee
The last four meetings in this series have been decided by three points or less, but this one shouldn't be close. The Volunteers are coming off a much needed bye week and will be as healthy as they've been in weeks with the return of linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr. and lineman Dylan Wiesman. Josh Dobbs has had some big games against the Gamecocks in his career and should have another one in Columbia as Tennessee snaps its two game losing streak and gets back in the SEC race.
3 CLEMSON (-4) AT 12 FLORIDA STATE 7pm
Pick: FSU
The Tigers just haven't seemed to click on all cylinders all season long and they haven't won in Tallahassee since 2006. The Seminoles seem to have gotten over their early season struggles thanks to the steady play of freshman quarterback Deondre Francois and the dynamic Dalvin Cook in the backfield. Expect a hostile environment at Doak Campbell Stadium and expect another Florida State win which will throw the ACC Atlantic division race upside down.
