MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — Middle Tennessee opened fall camp Friday and wrapped up its first weekend of practice on Saturday. It’s the 14th season for head coach Rick Stockstill who still gets excited for the first few days of fall camp.
This season Stockstill and the Blue Raiders are looking to replace his son and record-setting quarterback Brent Stockstill, who graduated after last year. Sophomore Asher O'Hara, who played when Stockstill was hurt last year, will battle junior college transfer Randall Johnson and redshirt freshman Chase Cunningham for the job.
But there's plenty of experience elsewhere that has Coach Stockstill excited about his team as they look to reach a bowl game for a fifth straight season.
NewsChannel 5’s Steve Layman caught up with the Stockstill as MTSU camp got underway.
