Robb Coles joined the NewsChannel 5 team as a multimedia journalist in October 2024.
Prior to that, he spent three years working as a weekend anchor/producer and multimedia journalist in Duluth, Minnesota for the CBS and NBC stations.
In Duluth, Robb led the weekend team to win the Midwest Broadcast Journalist Association's Eric Sevareid Award for breaking news coverage.
Robb changed careers during the pandemic to follow his passion for journalism.
Though he studied Telecommunications at Ball State University, after college, he moved to NYC to work in the entertainment business.
For more than a decade he toured the country performing and emceeing live events on cruise ships, improv and comedy shows, and corporate gatherings.
In March 2020, when live events were paused for the pandemic, Robb decided to retrain himself for a career in news, taking online classes in journalism and video storytelling.
He's thrilled to be in Nashville, and ecstatic to tell stories that matter to people in Middle Tennessee.
When he's not working, he enjoys visiting local coffee shops, restaurants, and hiking.
