Tennessee lawmakers approve second tax-free holiday for restaurant sales

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Tennessee lawmakers have approved a second tax-free holiday for restaurant sales in 2020.

The first tax-free holiday is scheduled for July 31 – August 2. Now, a second is set for August 7 – 9.

On that weekend, the retail sale of food and drink by restaurants and limited service restaurants is exempt from being taxed. The standard sales tax holiday continues in 2021.
