NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The number of new unemployment claims filed last week in Tennessee fell slightly from the week before.
According to the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, 9,873 new claims were filed during the week ending on October 17. The week before that, 10,145 claims were filed.
The number of continued claims rose to 77,740. Click here to file a claim in Tennessee.
Nationwide, the number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits fell last week to 787,000, a sign that job losses may have eased slightly but are still running at historically high levels.
