NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A local esthetician is offering mobile services so her clients feel safer during the pandemic.

Since the personal care industry has taken a hit due to COVID-19, esthetician Caylah May decided to adapt so she can survive. "I’ve really switched over to doing the mobile thing full time," May said.

From eyebrow and eyelash tints to help with mask-ne, she can do it all in your home.

"So I have a massage table that it folds up, and I stick in my car. When I do facials, I have like a little steamer that I bring with me," May said.

Client Hannah Dean prefers the new mobile service. She feels office settings aren't as safe since more people are around.

"Like I know it’s just Caylah and it’s super safe and comfortable," Dean said.

Due to mask-wearing, some people are paying more attention to their lashes and brows. "I won’t need to wear mascara or pencil in my brows in the morning or whatever, it’s really easy to just wake up and go,” Dean said.

She named her business Ocay Glow."Helping people feel better about themselves in very isolating times… that’s really what I’m here for," May said.

She gets tested for COVID-19 weekly to add an extra layer of protection. "As estheticians basically, our state board testing is all sanitation," May said.

She’s still in the process of developing her business model, so every week she’s trying to add additional services. Her next step is saving up for more equipment. May said, "So what I’m learning now, is that those devices are very expensive!"

She's hopeful that if she adjusts, her business will flourish. "It’s something I’ve just taken and run with it,” May said. Right now she's running a 20% off special for healthcare workers and teachers since they’ve had a tough year. You can sign up for an appointment here.
