New unemployment claims in Tennessee drop by 6K the week of July 25

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Nearly 20,000 Tennesseans filed for unemployment last week.

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development said 19,461 new claims were filed during the week ending on June 25 – down 6,333 new claims from the week prior.

The department said the number of continued claims in Tennessee is down slightly at 242,397. The department also provided the following data:
