NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman has been charged with theft in an alleged shoplifting scheme at a Nashville-area shopping mall.
Officials with Metro Police said Carolyn Nicholson has been charged with felony theft after allegedly stealing several items from a Dillard's store in the mall at Green Hills.
She’s been accused of taking orders from customers and then stealing the items to turn around and sell them at half-price.
The suspect allegedly hit the business at least three times for thousands of dollars in merchandise.
Detectives were able to locate Nicholson after she was seen on surveillance video.
When confronted, she reportedly admitted to taking orders from people for items such as purses and wallets, which she would then sell.
Officers recovered her cellphone, which reportedly contained a shopping list of items she planned to steal.
No additional details were known.
