It's an escape to relaxation for millions, but after allegations of sexual assault at the nation's largest massage chain -- NewsChannel 5 asked what people can do to prevent becoming a victim.

Instructors at the Mind Body Institute, a massage therapy school in Donelson said news of the 180 allegations of massage envy sexual assault shocked them - and they want to make clear, sexual assault is extremely rare in massage appointments.

Nonetheless, they say there are things you can look for when booking your massage appointment, including  a state establishment license number and individual therapist license numbers: Information you can verify yourself online.

"They can call and ask in advance what's the license number, it takes two seconds to Google it, put in the number and you'll be able to see if there's been any disciplinary action against that particular therapist," said Maj-Lis Nash of Mind Body Institute.
