NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Rain chances are ramping up as we head towards Thanksgiving.

Two rounds of rain are expected between now and Thanksgiving. The first one arrives Thursday of this week. The second one may threaten Thanksgiving travel next week.

The first round starts this Thursday night and continues through Saturday morning. The heaviest rain is expected to fall on Friday with 1"-2" expected across our area.

Long range models develop another storm system across the plains next Tuesday and bring rain across the plains and Southeast from Tuesday through Wednesday night (Thanksgiving Eve).

So, be ready for rain on Thanksgiving Eve here in Tennessee, and prepared for wet weather during some of the busiest travel days of the year. Timing and specifics of next weeks rain-maker will be fine-tuned as we get closer to it. Stay tuned!
