NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Rain and wind will ramp up during the overnight hours tonight setting the stage for a wet and windy Thursday.
We're expecting the bulk of our rain to come in two waves. One in the morning during the pre-dawn through sunrise hours. There should be a lull in the action from mid-morning through lunchtime, with the final push of scattered storms in the afternoon hours.
Very windy conditions are also expected tomorrow with gusts as high as 30-35mph outside of any thunderstorms that develop.
The overall severe threat is low. Our biggest concern would be some locally higher wind gusts within some of the thunderstorms in excess of 40-50mph. Some small hail can't be ruled out, but it's not likely or expected to be widespread. The greatest chance for any strong storms is along our Southern tier, where we have a level 1 out of 5 risk for severe storms.
Dry skies return Friday with another wave of showers and storms expected Saturday.
