A close call at a West Nashville gas station early Thursday, when police said a robber pulled the trigger of his gun, but it didn't go off.

Metro Nashville police were called to the Shell gas station on White Bridge Pike, west of Sylvan Park, at about midnight.

Investigators said two men wearing bandanas and gloves came into the store with handguns and demanded cash. At one point, police said one suspect pulled the trigger of his gun, but it didn't fire.

It's unclear what the two men got away with, but investigators said they drove off in a yellow Mustang.

According to Metro Nashville's Crime Map, there have been just 24 crimes reported within a half mile of that Shell station in in the past six weeks. Half of the crimes were assaults and vehicle break-ins.
