MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — A rollover crash on I-24 Sunday morning left two people dead and two injured.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. near mile marker 15.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a pick up truck was driving at a high rate of speed when the driver swerved to avoid hitting an International Harvester box truck.

The pickup truck side scraped the box truck and lost control, rolling five times before landing on its roof.

Jonathan Salas, 22, the driver of the pickup truck was killed. His passenger Tabitha Thompson, 26, was also killed. Neither of them were wearing a seatbelt.

William Presley, 23, and Landon Anderson, 27, were also in the pick up truck. They were both transported to the hospital for injuries.

The driver of the box truck was not injured.
