COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The 82 people who were treated at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after an EF-4 tornado hit the area will not have to pay for their hospital visit.

The hospital said the patients' insurance will be billed, but that payment will be accepted as payment in full. Those patients will not be billed for the remaining portion of treatment after insurance.

The violent tornado ravaged the area, killing five young children and 13 adults. It damaged 400 homes and completely destroyed 100.
