TN State Museum Renderings Revealed

Posted

State officials and architects released renderings of the new Tennessee State Museum.

The creation of the new facility at the corner of Rosa L Parks and Jefferson Street was aimed to focus on all parts of Tennessee's history.

The construction is expected to cost about $160 million.

Crews broke ground in April, and is expected to be completed within the next three years.

"This museum will tell those essential stories. Stories of heroism and tragedy, of promises kept, and those painfully deferred,” said Jon Meacham back in April.

"I think 100 years from now there will be school kids on this site that will have a new appreciation for what happened not just in the Civil War but today and 50 years from now,” said Gov. Bill Haslam.

At last check, the full $160 million had not been funded for the project.
