Holly Bobo Trial - Day 9
September 20, 2017
9:00 a.m. – Jeff Walker, FBI takes the stand. Defense would like to use him as a phone expert. The state contends that he isn't qualified to speak with expertise in this area. By his own admission he isn't an expert.
9:20 a.m.– Jury sent out to determine the breadth of Agents Walker's testimony.
9:43 a.m. – Jury brought back in...testimony resumes.
10:17 a.m. – Side bar, color bars. Break
10:44 a.m. – Court resumes, defense calls Kristie Gutgsell, former bail bondsman. Bailed Zach Adams out of jail for drug charges. She noticed that he had scratches all over his arms and legs and neck.
10:47 a.m. – John Reeves, JDR Telecomm Consultants, designs cellular telephone networks.
11:48 a.m. – Lunch recess.
2:07 p.m. – James Garnett, TBI Agent, searched Britt's computer. Britt searched for "rape" "anal" "scene" amongst other graphic search terms.
2:17 p.m. – Defense Rests – recess
2:38 p.m. – Court resumes with Zach Adams has elected not to testimony for the court.
2:41 p.m. – Adams renews his motion for judgment, that the state has failed to prove its case on all counts. Judge denies that motion and is not dismissing any counts.
2:42 p.m. – Jury re-enters. Prosecution begins calling rebuttal. Dana Bobo is called to the stand. Do you recall two or three days after Holly was abducted and going to different locations with a sheriff's department officer and going to Shayne Austin's property and DID see a burn barrel and a black truck
behind the trailer.
2:46 p.m. – Jack Van Hooser, Former TBI Agent, he was in charge in the West Tennessee Division, he was the supervisor for Dicus, and others. He came into the position (SAC) after Holly Bobo's abduction. He determined that Dicus wasn't leading the investigation adequately, he had lost his objectivity, too focused on one suspect and was "benched", or replaced.
2:52 p.m. – Judge decides to recess for the day since the jury charge will take quite some time and would make for a long day if he decided to do it today.
2:57 p.m. – Jury dismissed – Court adjourned.
