Launching a small business is a huge undertaking and renting an office in the beginning can be too much too soon. Now, Nashville start-ups and freelancers can fuel their ambition at The Lab.
Office space is expensive, so for small business owners like Sabrina Washington, The Lab is where she gets her work done.
"I'm an entrepreneur so I work 24-7. I needed something where I could come in and out. And this was perfect. And the price is, you can't beat it," she said.
Joshua Mundy is co-owner of The Lab.
"I mean the value is just being around other entrepreneurs and being able to grow and collaborate," he said.
He recently opened the space off Jefferson Street in North Nashville as a way to bring business-minded people together.
"You get 24-hour access. We'll have entrepreneurship classes. We'll have social hours," he said.
Monthly members of the lab have unlimited access to the space; wi-fi, on-site parking, and discounted printing. You can even rent space for the day if you have a meeting with a client or need a place to brainstorm.
The owners said they hope the lab will fuel creativity in the community and lead to local success stories.
"I grew up in this neighborhood. and just to be able to grow up out here and see the change and the growth and be a part of it is awesome," said co-owner Robert Sherrill.
