A Tennessee man has caught a world record black crappie, pending DNA testing.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency posted the photo on social media.
Pending DNA testing, new STATE AND WORLD RECORD black crappie weighing 5 lbs. 7.68 oz. has been caught by Lionel “Jam” Ferguson in Loudon Co. Old state record of 4 lbs. 4 oz. was caught in 1985 and old world record weighing 5 lbs. was caught in MO in 2006. #tnwildlifepic.twitter.com/REmqTWdct3

If confirmed, Lionel "Jam" Ferguson crushed the old state record from 1985 of 4 pounds 4 ounces.
Ferguson’s fish weighed in at 5 pounds 7.68 ounces.
The old world record of 5 ounces was set in 2006.
