Teen arrested after robbery, shooting outside Discount Tobacco store

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A teen who was sought for a robbery and shooting at a Discount Tobacco store is now in custody. Metro police arrested 17-year-old Theoderos Solomon-Tefera at his home on Swiss Avenue Monday night.

The robbery took place outside of the Discount Tobacco store at the 15000 block of Old Hickory Blvd. on June 9. Solomon-Tefera, armed with a handgun, watched the shooting victim and the victim's friend as they shopped inside the tobacco store.

When the victim's friend left and walked toward their vehicle, Solomon-Tefera followed him and demanded his money and debit card. Afterward, Solomon-Tefera demanded the belonging's of the rear seat passengers in the victim's car.

The shooting victim saw what was happening, ran to Solomon-Tefera and tried to wrestle him to the ground. Solomon-Tefera fired two shots, both of which hit the victim. The victim was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

Solomon-Tefera is charged at Juvenile Court with especially aggravated robbery, three counts of aggravated robbery and unlawful gun possession.
