The nurse practitioner and owner of a McEwen clinic has been expected to appear in court after being arrested on drug charges.

Tennessee Bureau Of Investigation agents arrested Nurse Julie Coleman Wednesday after searching the office as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

Coleman was booked into the Humphreys County jail on drug-related charges. She was expected to appear in court Thursday morning for a bond hearing.

Affidavits showed Coleman sold pills like Hydrocodone and Xanax to TBI informants on multiple occasions for cash.

They believed she was participating in similar activities since October.

TBI agents had also accused Coleman of opening a credit card under someone else's name and racking up thousands in charges.

Agents executed the search warrant at the Coleman Family Care Clinic at 9437 US Highway 70 East in McEwen Wednesday afternoon.

Former patient Kristie Wright said she had issues with Nurse Coleman the two years she treated her, although she never offered to sell her pills.

"I'm not surprised at all [about the accusations] because she was always a little shady," Wright said.

Coleman has been scheduled to appear in court on the charges June 15.
