CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — The lockout of Sycamore High School and Sycamore Middle School in Cheatham County have been lifted.
In a post on Facebook, the school district said the schools were on a lockout due to a possible external threat in the area. In a second post a couple of hours later, they announced the lockout has lifted.
All students are safe. As a precaution, an additional law enforcement presence will be at both schools during dismissal.
A lockout means is that students, faculty and staff go about daily routine inside the school. No outside activities take place.
When reached for comment, Cheatham County School officials could not elaborate on what the possible external threat was, but reiterated that the safety of students is their top priority.
