NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say a driver was arrested after crashing a pickup truck into a Bellevue family’s home.

The incident happened late Wednesday night on Bay Cove Trail. The homeowners said they heard a loud crash and went down to see what happened. They found a Dodge Ram 1500 in the garage side of the house.

According to Metro Police, the driver has been identified as 35-year-old Dillon Haselton and is charged with DUI 3rd offense, leaving the scene of a crime and possession of a controlled substance.

A bedroom is located above the section where the truck became lodged. Fortunately, the person who uses that room was not home at the time of the incident.

“It's kind of one of those blessings in disguise,” said Wyatt Eaton. “It was just crazy, my brother's room was right there... There were so many things that went right, that could've went wrong.”

Eaton, who's lived at the home with his family since August, said the driver also plowed through two neighbors' yards, took out a couple of mailboxes and clipped his mother's car before hitting the house.
