Suspect arrested in 2010 Nashville cold case murder

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WTVF) — The suspect in a 2010 cold case murder in Nashville was arrested in Memphis Thursday.

Metro Nashville police say Aaron Berkley, 32, was arrested by deputy marhals in Memphis, who were acting on information from Nashville's U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force.

Investigation by Metro police's cold case unit resulted in Berkley's indictment for killing 24-year-old Isaac Washington. The murder happened at Bavaria Apartments on Packard Drive in South Nashville on November 27, 2010.

Robbery is the suspected motive. Washington and Berkley knew each other.

Berkley - who is a convicted armed robber - had a pistol and a stack of cash when he was arrested in Memphis.
