NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Supporters of death row inmate Abu-Ali Abdur’Rahman rallied in support at the Davidson County courthouse.

They met on the steps of the courthouse and outlined the details of the case.

Abdur’Rahman was convicted of murder three decades ago but his sentence was reduced as a part of a deal between District Attorney Glenn Funk and defense attorneys.

But the state Attorney General appealed that ruling, saying the courts didn't have the authority to essentially grant clemency.

Abdur’Rahman's lawyer filed a response in opposition of that opinion. Rahman is still on death row.
