Student Says She Was Forced To Change Clothes In A School Bus

Did a school official force a Franklin County High School student to change out of her gym shorts on a school bus full of other students?

That's what the student’s family says happened, but school officials disagree.

Tiffany Scott says her daughter Alanna Diaz, a sophomore at Franklin County High School, was asked to change out of her gym shorts while students were loading up on school buses about to take kids home for the day last Tuesday.  The assistant principal told her it broke the school dress code.

The Franklin County school district told NewsChannel 5 the administrator asked Alanna to get off the bus to change.

But Alanna and her mother say the assistant principal was blocking the bus aisle, and Alanna said felt she was being forced to change out of her gym shorts on the bus, so she did.

“The assistant principal] was like, ‘was that so hard?’ and I was like, “Well, obviously. I just humiliated myself in front of a bunch of high schoolers," Alanna said.

The Franklin County Sheriff's office responded to the complaint from Alanna's mother.

Her mother hopes deputies will look at any surveillance video that may have captured what happened on the bus.
