A Storm 5 Alert has been issued for Friday ahead of severe storms expected to move through the region.
Two rounds of storms are expected to hit the Mid-State with the main threats possible Friday afternoon and during the overnight hours into early Saturday morning.
The storms will bring the threat of damaging winds, hail, flooding, and isolated tornados.
Ahead of the storms, the temperature will be hot with a heat index around 98 to 105 degrees.
The strongest storms will begin in the northwest portion of our viewing area between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Those storms have been expected to move into the Nashville area between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
A few strong to severe storms are also in the forecast for Saturday.
