Storm 5 Alert canceled after cold front brings severe weather to mid-state

A Storm 5 Alert was issued for the mid-state ahead of a cold front that is expected to bring the threat of strong to severe storms Monday evening.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Storm 5 Alert, which was issued for the mid-state ahead of a cold front, has now been canceled.

Damaging winds, heavy downpours and possible flash flooding were the primary threats. After highs topped out around 70 on Monday with stormy weather, drier weather is forecasted for Tuesday.

The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch for several southern counties until 1 a.m.
