NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Neighbors off of Sadler Avenue in south Nashville spent much of Sunday afternoon trapped inside their own neighborhood -- unable to get in or out.
The neighborhood is close to the CSX Radnor switching yard, where trains often stop, blocking the way into our out of the dead end street.
Beyond being annoying, neighbors said it's a problem that could turn deadly.
“If we had an emergency, someone had a heart attack or something, we would be in some trouble, you know?” said Willie Holman, who lives on the street, and said trains blocking the intersection has been a problem for years.
NewsChannel 5 tried contacting CSX about the recurring problem, but didn't get a response on Sunday.
Last year when NewsChannel 5 asked CSX about the same issue, they said they were aware of the problem, and were working toward a solution to stop the road blocks.
